I’ve been asked about copyrights and looked up the one WordPress suggests. This is how it reads: “© These stories published as “Sansaku” and found in the blog “Best Slowly,” belong to the author . Unauthorized use and/or duplication of this material without express and written permission from this site’s author and/or owner is strictly prohibited. Excerpts and links may be used, provided that full and clear credit is given to Colin Smith and “Best Slowly” with appropriate and specific direction to the original content.”
It’s not the one I’d write. These stories are freely given and they’re not for sell or profit. I’m reminded, however, of what a friend of mine said when he came to work at Timberline. “I’d work here for free, it means that much to me, but since you’re paying me, you need to know it’s not near enough.”
When he was being interviewed to work at the school, he was asked why he wanted to work there. He said, “I’m not sure I do. You’ll have to convince me.” It was a lovely answer.
